Be prepared for any weather when packing for a trip to Montana. In the same week, you can go from flip-flops to snow boots!
Your guide will provide your party with Fly Rods and tackle. If you have your own gear, feel free to bring it along. You won't want to forget sunscreen, a hat, and polarized sunglasses. Bringing your own rain gear is never a bad idea, although most guides do keep a couple of extra rain jackets in their boat.
For full-day walk-wade and float trips, your guide will provide you with lunch and a cooler of water and sodas. Lunch is typically a variety of sandwiches, fruit, chips, and a cookie. Anglers are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages along too!
You and your guide will touch base the day before your trip. Together you will decide on where to fish, what time and where to meet in the morning. Anglers are welcome to ride along with their guides to the river, or follow in their own vehicle. You can fine tune lunch orders for any specific needs or preferences.
Driving time to the river can vary anywhere between 5 minutes and an hour and a half, depending on your destination. Many anglers will do two or three consecutive days of fishing, enjoying numerous rivers.
Please don't hesitate to call or email with any questions about what a trip may entail. Sean is very friendly, and can help to make your trip worry-free and fun!
